New measures are in place for admission to the building and a number of items are prohibited from the venue.

Security

  • Please have your tickets ready to show for check-in, guidance and direction.
  • No backpacks or bags larger than A3 size will be permitted within the venue, there are no provisions for storage, please ensure your bag complies with our venue bag policy. See Security page for more information.

Food & Beverage

  • Charles Hallé Restaurant is open for evening shows and some afternoon shows. Please contact Box Office for more information on 0161 907 9000. Booking is essential and can be done through the Box Office. For more information please see our Eating & Drink page
  • The Stalls Café Bar is now open dining for some afternoon shows.
  • Please note – each patron is allowed to bring 1 bottle of water with them, max 500ml in a sealed plastic bottle.
  • We prefer contactless/cashless payments at the Hall.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer concessions on tickets?
Discounted ticket prices at The Bridgewater Hall are available to different concessionary groups dependent on the concert. If booking online, please select the appropriate concession group(s) where prompted to show what concessions are available. Alternatively, please check with the Box Office.

How do I book accessible tickets?
Please contact the Box Office directly to enquire, 0161 907 9000 or email supervisors@bridgewater-hall.co.uk. See the Access page for further information.

Is there a dress code?
Most of our shows don’t have a dress code, we want our audiences to feel comfortable, relaxed and to enjoy the show.

Can I bring food and/or drink into the venue with me?
It is not permitted to bring food or drinks into the Hall, although each person is permitted to bring 1 bottle of water with them, max 500ml in a sealed plastic bottle.

What if a show is cancelled or rescheduled?
If an event is cancelled, you will be notified and offered a credit voucher or a refund. If an event is rescheduled your existing ticket remains valid, or you will be offered an exchange, credit voucher or refund. Read our Terms and Conditions here.

Do you offer refunds on tickets?
Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded for any event unless the event is cancelled or rescheduled.

Will latecomers be admitted?
This will depend on the performance. To limit any interruptions, there may be a significant wait before you are admitted into the auditorium.

Do you have a cloakroom?
Our cloakroom is only available prior to a main auditorium event and you can leave your belongings in our cloakroom if you wish, there is a charge of £2 per item.

Can I bring my bags to the Hall?
In order to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all our customers, The Bridgewater Hall has a one bag policy. Bags should be no more than 30cm x 40cm x 10cm or approx A3 paper size. Any additional bags or bags larger than allowed, must be checked into the cloakroom at £2 per item. More Security information.

Do you keep lost property?
Lost property will be held for 3 months maximum, any unclaimed and uncollected items will then be disposed of.

Will there be security searches?
All bags will be searched. Admission constitutes consent to search. Please cooperate with our team and allow time for security checks. More Security information.

What items do you prohibit or restrict?
There are a few items we do not allow to be brought into the building during your visit. See here for the full list of prohibited and restricted items.

Will I be able to use a hearing device?
Yes. You will be able to make use of our Sennheiser hearing loop system, see our Access page for details.

Do I need a ticket for my baby?
Yes. Dedicated babes in arms tickets are made available on appropriate family concerts. Please contact Box Office for specific show information.

What is the latest COVID-19 guidance?
When you visit The Bridgewater Hall, we’ll be operating under the most up to date Government guidance and legislation in place, supported by ASM Global’s environmental hygiene protocol – VenueShield. Our safety measures and terms of entry are under constant review, and we’ll keep you up to date with any changes on how we operate on our Your Visit page.

Can I take photos/film the concert?
At classical performances this is strictly not permitted, at other performances this is decided in discussion with the artist and rules will be advertised on the day. If photography is allowed it would generally be without flash, and filming limited to small snippets out of consideration for the performers and your fellow patrons.

Can I dance at the concert?
The Bridgewater Hall is a seated venue and unfortunately we don’t have space to let our audiences cut loose like you might sometimes want to. However, at our livelier shows you are more than welcome to dance at your seat – although if the rest of the audience remained seated we appreciate you being mindful of their enjoyment.
