Manchester Chamber Choir return to the Middays with a programme to celebrate the arrival of Advent, featuring music by William Byrd, Peter Philips, James MacMillan, Gabriel Jackson and Jan Sandström, amongst others.
Manchester Chamber Choir was formed in 2002 and has become one of the UK’s most versatile and accomplished vocal ensembles. Now celebrating their 20th anniversary, the choir has sung on BBC Radio 4’s Daily Service and Sunday Worship, and regularly works with the BBC Philharmonic. It premiered James MacMillan’s Credo with the orchestra at the BBC Proms, and Mark Simpson’s The Immortal with them at the Manchester International Festival, and has broadcast live performances of Bach Cantatas with Nicholas Kraemer, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with Juanjo Mena and a BBC Radio 2 Special with The Pet Shop Boys.
