Weber Euryanthe Overture (9’) | Bruch Violin Concerto No.1 in G minor (24’) | Beethoven Symphony No.5 in C minor (35’)

Post-Concert Divertimento

Gaskell String Quartet will be playing in the Stalls Foyer after the performance.

We welcome back one of Germany’s finest orchestras under a maestro from a distinguished conducting dynasty. They perform well-loved works that combine passion and classical poise in very different ways. Playing Max Bruch’s lyrical First Violin Concerto, Arabella Steinbacher makes her Manchester debut, before we hear Beethoven‘s iconic Fifth Symphony, taking us on a journey from fateful darkness to triumphant light.
