Music Makers – 15 April

The amazing Sarah led our Music Makers this month, which took us on a journey to a land before time. In this sensory music workshop, the little music makers met lots of different dinosaurs of all shapes, sizes, and colours, and with her flute, drum and accordion, Sarah introduced us to lots of new sounds and genres of music. Join us next month where Georgie will take us on a walk magical musical walk through the forest!

Be Hear Now – 21 April

Our Be Hear Now lead, Beth, led a very special session this month, as we’re proud to announce that Be Hear Now is sponsored by Fletchers Solicitors and supported by Brainwave. Fletchers kindly put on a lovely lunch for our Be Hear Now families and it was great to see everyone get involved in the session which starred the amazing Meera and Dom from Maharaj Degavino Duo. Representing her Father’s Trinidad roots, Meera took us to Carnival with some tunes on her flute. It was a celebration all around, and a great way to kick off the collaboration with our great families, partners, and sponsors!

Live Music Now Specialist School Concert – 22 April

The fabulous Festivo Winds led our specialist schools’ concert on 22 April. We learnt all about the trios’ instruments including the flute, cor anglais and French horn. Did you know if you were to unravel the French horn it’d be the same length as a double decker bus!? Festivo then treated us to a medley of music from the movies, as well as some beautiful classical pieces. It was great to see so many school groups flexing their listening skills and getting involved with the interactive workshop too – huge thank you to everyone involved!

Be Hear Now in the Community – 9 April

For this month’s Be Hear Now in the Community session at PossAbilities, Witley Road in Rochdale we were joined by Live Music Now’s amazing duo Iwan Owen and Nicole Boardman. Soprano Nicole blew us away with her beautiful voice – it felt like we were in the room with a real-life Disney princess! Iwan’s piano playing was equally as beautiful, and the participants had a great time being a bit cheeky conducting his rag-time piano playing at an extra fast tempo. There were lots of laughs, singing and dancing (including a great Charleston from Beth!) this month at Be Hear Now in the Community – thank you to everyone involved!
