Balakirev Islamey: Oriental Fantasy
Praised for his “limitless palette of colours” and “technical mastery and authority”, pianist Nicolas Ventura performs extensively throughout Europe and the UK.
Born in Carrara, the city of marble in Tuscany, Nicolas is an alumnus of the Conservatorio “Cesare Pollini” of Padua, and the Royal Academy of Music in London, graduating with First Class. Recently, he graduated from his Artist Diploma at the Royal College of Music where he studied with Dina Parakhina.
Nicolas has created his own piano transcriptions of works by Prokofiev and Copland, and in 2023, was awarded the Oleg Prokofiev Award by the Oleg Prokofiev Trust for his work on the composer’s music. As founder and artistic director of “Lunis Symphonia”, a unique chamber music festival in Liguria (Italy), Nicolas promotes music-making alongside Roman historical and archaeological heritage.
In 2025, Nicolas is excited to record his first commercial album “Origins” dedicated to Prokofiev and Bloch, and to make his debut at Cadogan Hall with Prokofiev’s 3rd piano concerto.
This concert is unreserved seating in the Stalls.
