The natural world has inspired many composers, from Beethoven to Vivaldi, and this concert offers a collection of much-loved pastoral-themed masterpieces. Ben Palmer will lead the performance of all five movements from Beethoven’s Sixth Symphony, interspersed with Lili Boulanger’s charming D’un matin de printemps and works that showcase the talent of the award-winning Latvian violinst, Kristine Balanas: Spring from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons and Vaughan Williams’ enduringly popular The Lark Ascending.
