Dilettante is the brainchild of longtime BC Camplight member Francesca Pidgeon, their live shows a genre-phobic loop-fest, featuring everything from fuzzy guitar licks to five-part saxophone harmonies.
Having recently sold out headline shows in Manchester, Leeds, Halifax, London, Hull and Liverpool, Dilettante have also supported the likes of Self Esteem, Caribou, Graham Coxon and Philip Selway, and appeared at festivals including Kendal Calling, Live at Leeds, Manchester Jazz Festival and The Great Escape. Their debut album ‘Tantrum’ was released in October 2022.
Francesca has also been awarded the prestigious Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award for Artists, set to receive £60,000 over the course of the next three years to put towards her music. She has also started scoring for film, having received nominations for Best Composer from Underwire Film Festival.
