Emily Mercer is a Manchester based indie artist who boasts some serious range, her genre-defiant music revealing a naturally questioning nature, with ongoing themes of truth seeking, self sabotage, and all that make us messy and human.
With a sound that is at once nostalgic and strikingly modern, Mercer’s songs are the sum of many parts – from indie pop hooks to jazz-inspired harmonies backed by wavy keys and lo-fi beats – the result a warm and textured soundscape that digs deep, tearing apart the darker parts of the self and exposing them to the light.
Live at Lunchtime is a series of free concerts, taking place on various Fridays throughout May to September. Doors open at 12.30pm, with each 45-minute performance starting promptly at 12.45pm, providing the perfect opportunity to enjoy some musical entertainment during the space of your lunch break!
