He welcomes to The Bridgewater Hall stage his fellow countryman, Anton Mejias, who performs Prokofiev’s brilliant, breathtaking Second Piano Concerto. Sibelius’s theatrical and triumphant Fifth Symphony ends with the greatest finale of all time, and its ‘Swan Hymn’ rings out in life-affirming fashion.
