Mozart Oboe Quartet
Farrenc Nonet in E-flat major
Tiberiu Buta & Stéphane Rancourt
Performed by Hallé musicians in the intimate surroundings of Hallé St Peter’s, the Chamber Series adds a further strand to the diversity of the orchestra’s offer to Greater Manchester audiences. They’re hugely popular too – last season every one sold out. In the first of these concerts, we hear from Stéphane Rancourt and Tiberiu Buta in an enchanting programme of Mozart and Farrenc. Written for the virtuoso Friedrich Ramm, Mozart’s charming Oboe Quartet will allow Stéphane’s beautiful sound to fill the building while Farrenc’s Nonet, which was premiered triumphantly in 1850, marking the zenith of her composing career, will unite the strings and winds of the Hallé in this delightful work.
This concert takes place at Hallé St Peters.
