Manchester–based broadcaster, DJ Mayeva comes from a multicultural background with parents of Peruvian-Spanish and Norwegian-Irish origin and is well established on the UK world music scene. She regularly performs at world music events, multicultural weddings and festivals. Appearances in Manchester include We Face Forward, Eurocultured, FEAST, Cultural Collage World Music Festival and the Viva Latin American Music Festival at Home. She has also hosted world music stages at Croydon Summer Music Festival, and Harewood Hall, Blue Dot and Kendal Calling and is a regular DJ at Africa Oye in Liverpool.
Under her broadcasting name, Geli Berg, she produced and presented Cultural Collage, a monthly world music and cultural magazine programme on ALL FM 96.9 Community Radio in Manchester for 13 years.
