April Playback 2025
Welcome to the April edition of our Bridgewater For All Playback, where we look back at the highlights of the Learning and Participation programme at The Bridgewater Hall for this month. We’ve embraced all the bright, new energy that Spring brings with it at the Hall, with lots of lively performances and workshops from talented musicians.
We hope you enjoy reading what we’ve been up to in April.

Be Hear Now – 13 April
For this month’s Be Hear Now, we were treated to an amazing interactive concert from the fabulous Mishra Duo! Featuring the talents of Kate and Joss, Mishra blew us away with their unique sound that celebrates UK folk music and Indian Classical. Performing their angelic original songs, our young people were fascinated by the sheer array of instruments the duo brought with them. From low whistles to tablas, guitars to dobros, Yet the undisputed star of the show was Kate’s banjo! Our families had the opportunity to conduct Kate, and they didn’t go easy on her! Her speed at playing this beautiful American instrument was incredible and had everyone on their feet dancing the hoedown!

Be Hear Now in the Community – 8 April
Our amazing group at Trafford Choices absolutely loved the musicians who joined us for April’s Be Hear Now in the Community. We had to amazing talents of Iwan (piano) and Nicole (soprano), and they blew us away with their interactive concert. Nicole sang an array of songs, with three of them being in Welsh, German and Italian! Iwan’s playing was seriously impressive as the group conducted him whilst he played ‘The Entertainer’ – I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone’s hands move as quick! The interactive workshop led by Alice and Beth was lots of fun too, and the group built on their knowledge of dynamics and pitch. We finished off the session with some great singing from the group, with some stand out solos from Reece and Alice who performed some of their original songs!
Led by Beth Bishop and Alice Phelps, each year we work with an adult day service in Greater Manchester to deliver our much loved Be Hear Now workshops to adults with learning disabilities. Participants can enjoy exploring live music, creativity and movement together, inspired by performances from Live Music Now’s professional music ensembles.
Music Makers – 14 April
For this month’s Music Makers, Beth treated us to an egg-cellent Easter themed session. We shared lots of songs about hopping bunnies, spring flowers, April showers, and forest walks. Beth played an array of instruments for our babies and toddlers, including her wonderful flute and guitar. We had plenty of fun games to accompany Beth’s lovely singing, which included the ever-popular parachute!
