Please Note: This concert takes place in Manchester Cathedral

This year marks 50 years since the moon landings, an event which many would argue ranks as the pinnacle of man’s achievements – not only in technological merit but what this represents when we come together. This concert celebrates the idea of the collective, of a shared vision and a passion for creating something bigger than ourselves – we present to you a group of players, all eminent players of their instruments but whom when placed together become one of the most innovative musical units in the country.

This programme will naturally orbit the moon and will take us from Elvis to Beethoven and Schöenberg to Sting. A bespoke inflatable moon will become the dominant focal point of the cathedral space. Lit to convey the changing phases and the significance of this performance, it will create a spectacular piece that captivates the audience, making them feel like they may very well be in space themselves.
