Maxime Pascal conductor
Tom Redmond presenter

Presenter Tom Redmond, known for his energetic and entertaining style, joins the Hallé and leading French conductor Maxime Pascal to guide us through Prokofiev’s take on one of the most famous stories ever written.

Expect storytelling, props, laughter and wonderful music as we delve into the story of the star-crossed lovers and their feuding families. Listen out for Dance of the Knights, recognisable as the theme tune to BBC’s One’s The Apprentice!

The Bridgewater Hall opens at 10.30am with free activities for all the family in the foyers before the concert starts at 12pm. Try your hand at our archive-inspired scavenger hunt, learn about the instruments of the orchestra, meet some of our musicians, create your own family crest, write your own sonnet … there will be something for everyone. Refreshments and ice creams will be available to purchase too.
