Holst brilliantly portrayed the astrological characters of each of the planets in his ever-popular work, from the terrifying battlefield of Mars, to the solace of Venus and the jollity of Jupiter. Delyana Lazarova, winner of the inaugural Siemens Hallé International Conductors Competition and Hallé Youth Orchestra Music Director, takes to the podium to introduce and direct the combined forces of the Hallé and Hallé Youth Orchestra. A truly memorable evening for both performers and audience alike.
