Anna Clyne Night Ferry (21’)
Vaughan Williams The Lark Ascending (13’)
Berlioz Symphonie fantastique (50’)

Anna Clyne describes Night Ferry as ‘music of voyages, from stormy darkness to enchanted worlds’. True, but that hardly captures the thrilling turbulence of the ride. Vaughan Williams’s classic sings vividly of England – but Berlioz’s wild work, written under the influences of opium and unrequited love, sounds like nothing else.
