We work with partners across Greater Manchester to build a strong offer of cultural activity for people of all ages living in the region. If you enjoy what we do at the Hall, why not see what other music based activities are taking place?

Music Education Hubs

Music Education Hubs bring together music teaching in and out of schools, with a delivery network including orchestras, performers and high-quality music tutors. If you’re looking for one-off or ongoing music activities for anyone aged up to 19, these should be your first stop.

Family Arts Festival

We’re delighted to be part of the national Family Arts Festival, launched in 2013 to offer exciting arts activities for young people aged 0-19 every autumn. Take a look at the festival website to see what’s going on across the country.

Resident Orchestras

Our three resident orchestras each have their own education departments.

The HallĂ© leads a wide range of opportunities, including children’s and youth choirs and ensembles, school projects, and school and family concerts both at The Bridgewater Hall and their new base at St Peter’s in Ancoats. Regular activities at The Bridgewater Hall include the ever-popular HallĂ© for Youth concerts for KS2, and Come and Play events for children learning instruments through whole-class tuition.

The BBC Philharmonic leads a range of family, school and community projects, particularly around their base in Salford Quays. For 8-14 year olds, they also offer a popular Journey Through Music programme, with special pre-concert talks for selected concerts and discounted tickets for family audiences. You can book your Journey Through Music tickets directly with our Box Office.

Manchester Camerata run school and family events, including a youth forum. Their Cameo Orchestra gives players of all ages a chance to develop their skills and try playing with an ensemble under expert guidance, and schools can book regular workshops and bespoke projects.
