Trevor Pinnock is known worldwide as a harpsichordist and conductor who pioneered performance on historical instruments with his own orchestra, The English Concert, which he founded in 1972 and led for the next thirty years. In 2006 he recorded all of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos and was awarded a 2008 Gramophone prize.

‘Baroque music unfolded all its magic, its sensuality, its intellectual and architectural form... Pinnock totally lives in his music and communicates an infectious delight in playing.’ Basellandschaftliche Zeitung

Born in Staffordshire Lucy Crowe is rapidly establishing herself as one of the leading lyric sopranos of her generation. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music. In 2002 she received the Royal Overseas Gold Medal and in 2005 won second prize in Kathleen Ferrier Awards.
