Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre is Russia’s national theatre for ballet and opera, representing the quintessence of the country’s musical tradition. Founded in 1776, the theatre was the venue for the premières of Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov and Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake.
