Most of our work takes place with schools from across Greater Manchester. Whether we’re welcoming you to the Hall for a one-off visit or a longer-term project, we believe in giving all children the opportunity to experience music and creativity from an early age.

Workshops and School Engagement

Every season we plan several longer-term projects for schools who are interested in becoming more deeply involved in music development. Professional leaders and musicians will help children explore themes connected to the Hall’s programme. This could be through pre-concert talks with leading composers, watching world class orchestras perform or taking part in music production workshops. Projects are exciting and varied, typically culminating in a public performance of students’ own work in our main Auditorium. Make sure to check out our Read, Watch and Listen section for updates on our latest projects.
