Conferences & Events - The Bridgewater Hall


The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester's international concert hall, provides a unique and alternative venue for a variety of corporate functions. The building, with its contemporary architecture and distinctive design, is located in the conference quarter of Manchester adjacent to the GMEX and Manchester International Convention Centre.

The magnificent auditorium, the stylish foyers and the tall, spacious dimensions of the Barbirolli Room offer flexibility for events from 10 to 1875 delegates. The professional corporate events team combine high quality service and standards with the practical means to operate your event successfully.

The Auditorium


A magnificent and unique platform, ideal for conferences or conventions, the Auditorium offers seating for over 1875 delegates over four levels, in a modern, comfortable and intimate environment, with built-in technical facilities.

The stage is an open concert platform 19m wide at the front, tapering to 12.3m at the rear and 1m high from the floor level. Built-in stage lifts, the first at 5.5m from the front of the stage, with a total depth of 12.8m, allow for total flexibility on the platform.

Hire of the whole facility includes the use of four en-suite changing rooms, each holding 25-30 people and five smaller en-suite dressing rooms. Full technical specifications of the Auditorium can be printed from the Audio/Visual button.

Barbirolli Room


A versatile room, with windows to allow natural daylight in or black out screens to keep it out! With air-conditioning and an incredibly high ceiling, this room is ideal for any type of event. With dimensions of 16m x 13.5m, which can be extended into our Corporate Bar area (subject to availability and timings), the Barbirolli Room can hold a maximum of 200 guests.

This room can be conveniently used in conjunction with other spaces for conferences with hospitality and dinners with drink receptions.

Charles Hallé Room


Named after the founder of the Hallé orchestra, the Charles Hallé Room over looks the canal basin and offers the perfect meeting and seminar space for 10 to 40 delegates. The room has a separate area for hospitality and also offers natural daylight, black out facility and air conditioning.

The Charles Hallé Room must be vacated by 3.45pm* as the room becomes the pre-concert & post-concert dining room.

As a smaller alternative we can also offer our Green Room for private meetings, receptions or dinners. Ideal for private concert entertaining!

Circle Foyer


The Circle Foyer, with spectacular views towards the city, offers natural daylight and open space, ideal for cocktail receptions. The space can also be used in conjunction with the Barbirolli Room, for registration, buffet service and/or as a small exhibition space.

Alternatively the Choir Circle Foyer, a smaller foyer space, offers the same practical opportunities with ease of access to the Corporate Bar and Barbirolli Room.

The Bridgewater Hall has a dedicated team to provide a full range of technical, audio and visual technology and support. The Technical team can provide services from a full-scale conference set-up in the Auditorium to basic seminar support equipment in the Green Room.
