The Bridgewater Hall - Alive with Music

Access

The Bridgewater Hall welcomes deaf and disabled patrons. If you have any specific access requirements (eg a dog mat), please ask the Box Office on 0161 907 9000 or mention your request in the additional information section if booking online. Bridgewater Hall staff are here to help; please do not hesitate to approach any staff member for assistance during your visit.

The main entrance and Box Office entrance of The Bridgewater Hall both have level access from Lower Mosley Street. Automatic doors are at the Box Office entrance. Access to and from the NCP Manchester Central (G-MEX) car park is by lift or ramp between Barbirolli Square and the canal basin and covered walkway under Lower Mosley Street. Disabled parking spaces can be reserved at NCP Manchester Central.

There are lifts to all levels of The Bridgewater Hall.
Seats for wheelchair users are available on all four levels of the auditorium.
All bars and the Box Office have low level counter positions. A low level public telephone is situated near the Box Office.
An accessible toilet is available on each of the Hall's four levels.The accessible toilet on Choir Circle (Level 2) has a sliding door.
 
The front rows of the stalls area offer the best viewing opportunities for patrons with impaired vision. Guide dogs are welcome throughout the building and auditorium. Dog mats are available on request. Aisle seats can also be requested.
Lifts have voice announcements and raised lettering on the control panel.
All stair landings have raised lettering with directional information.

The Hall’s what’s on information is available in large print and audio formats. If you would like to receive information in an alternative format, please contact the Box Office on 0161 907 9000 or email box@bridgewater-hall.co.uk, stating which format you prefer.

Music Moving on is the regular fortnightly radio show from The Bridgewater Hall team, featuring music, news, interviews, competitions and chat. Every other Tuesday at 2.00pm on ALL FM 96.9, or listen online at www.allfm.org


All auditorium levels have a Sennheiser infra-red hearing system. There are three types of receivers:

  • the stethoscope receivers (for patrons with impaired hearing)
  • the necklet induction couplers (for use with switchable hearing aids)
  • the earpiece receiver (for use with digital in-ear hearing aids)

Any of these aids may be borrowed from the cloakroom on the ground floor foyer and the Box Office can advise on the most suitable seating areas.

Hearing and assistance dogs are welcome throughout the building and auditorium. Dog mats are available on request. Aisle seats can also be requested.
