Milind Tulankar

Music for Mind and Soul: Milind Tulankar, Jaltarang – The ancient art of the Indian water bowl

This event will take place in The Barbirolli Room at The Bridgewater Hall.

Jaltarang, literally meaning ‘waves in water’ is a unique instrument rarely heard or seen in today’s world, despite its extremely soothing sound. Jaltarang is essentially several china bowls arranged in a semicircle with varying levels of water filled to the desired melodic frequency and struck with two cane sticks.
