“I really enjoyed the week I spent at The Bridgewater Hall, and the things I particularly enjoyed about the work experience were seeing how events are arranged and the various deals that go on, looking behind the organ and around the auditorium, which I would not normally get the opportunity to do.” – Emma
We invite young people to join us for one-week work experience placements three times each year, in the spring, summer and autumn.
Trainees will receive a full induction into the working practices of The Bridgewater Hall and discover how different departments function and work together to make every event a success.
A typical placement includes supporting the work of the Programming and Conferences & Events teams, getting practical experience on our own radio show with the Marketing department and behind the scenes with the Technical crew, and dealing directly with customers in the Box Office, Shop and Front of House. Read the job description to find out more.
“It was an excellent opportunity to see how the different departments function and depend on each other for events to go ahead.” – Bart

We can also offer occasional placements with Learning and Participation projects. These will usually be aimed at older students with some experience of working in similar settings as a professional or volunteer. These placements will be advertised here as they become available.
Please note that The Bridgewater Hall is a concert venue not a theatre. We receive regular applications from individuals seeking experience of props, costumes and scenery design which we are rarely able to support. Please read the information on this page carefully before contacting us.
